Hi Everyone- Even with the technical problems we encountered today, (sorry about that! Mother Nature wasn't on our side today), I thought we had a great show with our guest Jay Johnson. Jay is the editor/publisher of Design2Share (www.design2share.com), and in total disclosure, I write a column for them called Harmony2Share (shameless self-promotion). He gave us the inspiration behind Design2Share and GREEN trends they are seeing in at the magazine. Design2Share started w/Jay and his partner, Irwin Weiner (a phenomenal designer who you can check out at (www.irwinweinerinteriors.com) as some design YouTube videos. Check out the channel at www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=design2share&aq=0&oq=design2s, you can also watch some video on the Design2Share website as well! The idea grew from there. Now there's an Ask the Expert forum, articles on new designers/artists and fun retail stores. They have also added a Learning Center where you can sign up for Webinars! Webinars will be conducted by Susan Slotkis and your humble radio talk show host-ME. Click on the following link to check out classes, dates and registration information http://www.design2share.com/online-home-design-classes/. Jay also shared some great GREEN tips you can employ in any of your spaces. First, GREEN products are finally coming around in the "technological" aspect, price and being available mainstream. (We discussed this paint industry last week). Jay referenced toilets w/water usage and lightbulbs in the fluorescent vs incandescent debate. The next point Jay made was the trend towards "Re-Using and Re-cycling" furniture from architectural salvage yards, consignment shops, flea markets and rummage sales. There is an emerging trend of GREEN De-construction where fixtures, cabinetry, molding and the like can be used in other projects or donated to Habitat for Humanity! Keep this in mind on your next remodel/re-design project. The show ended abruptly, partly my fault on timing closing better and the technical glitch in communicating with Jay. I apologize for that! Next week we will discuss ways to make Easter a bit GREENER! Don't forget to check out the Facebook Group-Integrative Lifestyle Design! Also, the new 3E Products "Pick 3 for April" is: Eucalyptus/Knowledge-Self-Empowerment, Geranium/Career-Life Path-New Beginnings and Lemongrass/Family. These 3 scents were picked to enhance these highlighted areas for April as we look forward to Earth Day and the growth & new beginnings that await us. 3E Products Environment Sprays are: all natural, eco-friendly, biodegradable and scented w/essential oils to the cashew oil base. DeAnna will also be a featured author on this (and next week's) BlurbRadio talking about my books! Make sure you listen on Wednesday at www.blogtalkradio.com/blurb. The show airs at 8p EASTERN time. Vote for me!!! Until next week...Happy Designing...
