Female, age 46
Overall (I feel) pretty damned good. I feel I have earned every wrinkle and every gray hair…I am OWNING it all! They are my badges of honor. (Regarding anti-aging product advertising) I canceled my subscription to that baloney a long, long time ago! For me, it’s not about fighting age it’s about CELEBRATING IT naturally! I still use olive oil as a make-up remover and as a deep conditioner for my hair and have been using Oil of Olay moisturizer since I was 13 (you do the math). I truly believe that your skin reflects what you put into your insides. So to me, the less chemicals, preservatives, red dye #7 etc., etc. you put into your body, the better you look and the less “old” you look and therefore you don’t have to buy into the ”anti” anything.
(Regarding my cultural role now) nothing has changed from my 20′s/ First and foremost I am responsible to guide and care for every child that crosses my path. I am the alpha/nurturing she-wolf of my pack. I am a storyteller who happens to sing songs and co-write lyrics and melodies with her writing partners and I am a driven entrepreneur.
Ironically, I was just thinking about this (lifetime accomplishments) the other day and I came up with this. Precisely at this time I have accomplished far more than I ever thought I would. Based on that foundation, I have barely scratched the surface of what I am supposed to accomplish in the next 46 years. The absolute belief in myself and faith in my vision (helped me to accomplish this).
(Regarding my biggest challenge) I have the feeling it has not yet hit me, everything else was just a warm up quiz. (I would) not (change) one thing. I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am if I did that. (I am most proud of) the influence I have had on my niece and nephews in teaching them not to just dream big but to dream HUGE!
(Regarding the aging process) For me, I cherish all the confidence, wonder, fortitude, strength, appreciation of others and self, and the wisdom that comes with age.
(Regarding my bucket list) I am doing it all simultaneously…I am setting myself up in a new company and I will be set for life, so that I can take care of my ailing mother. I am setting up the foundation so that my sister and her 3 children are also set for life as well as grow my children’s non-profit into a 10-story building of happiness. I am setting up my future so that I am able to financially, spiritually, emotionally and physically complete my current CD and future CDs as well as “purchase” a band that is best suited to what I need on stage.
