Academie de Cuisine to award up to $100,000 in Culinary Scholarships ~ again!

After a successful summer launch, during which the first group of Academie de Cuisine culinary students were able to prepare the menu for a Senator Dianne Feinstein fund-raiser and notably, THE most innovative pilot program ever implemented in conjunction with the Chinese Newcomers Service Center, The Academie de Cuisine, once again, in partnership with the Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC) are accepting fall enrollments on Monday October 4th, 2010 for the 3-month Breakfast & Grill Cook as well as the Food Service Administration Specialist intensive training programs.

 Both programs include “on-the-job-training” “real world” opportunities in a variety of food service positions such as catering along with classroom instruction which may also include “English-in-the-workplace” education, should the student need it. The programs replicate, quite well, the actual “every day life” scenarios not only in the kitchen but also convey the realities of catering jobs and restaurant jobs. The students who work hard, are disciplined, open to new ideas and graduate are ready for just about any food service position. The first 50 students who meet the admission criteria and enroll for either of these intensive training programs may qualify for up to $2000 in scholarship assistance!

Those students who successfully graduate, show initiative, a positive can do anything attitude,

 are ambitious and driven to succeed will be offered job placement assistance for a

 possible internship or potential externship in a location chosen by the Academie de Cuisine.

Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC), a local non-profit agency located in San Francisco Chinatown, has served for 40 years as a community leader.  The center provides multilingual services to the new immigrants and low-income families such as vocational training, job placement, naturalization & citizenship, community information and referral, free tax-filing, financial literary, telecommunications assistance, food distribution, and more.

Training starts on 10/18/10. In-person interview/registration begins Monday 10/4/10 between 10am to

12pm and 1pm to 4pm at the Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC) located in San Francisco,
