Our fathers and mothers participated in both European wars of WWI, WWII, and the hegemonic wars in Korea and Vietnam.  They bought homes through the GI Bill, purchased American made cars and furniture on time. We celebrated the Fourth of July and watch fireworks displayed over the rivers, waterways, fields and lots of our new home cities.

But, in time  aware of the unexpressed feelings of continued separation, not unlike the feelings of our cousins the indigenous people of the land we call America, we questioned the veracity of the celebration and our stagnant position in this country. As we began to realize that the more things chaged the more things stayed the same-- we recognized the great divide in American culture and we asked “Why are we really celebrating?”

Tonight we will discuss this and much more on I was just thinking...
