Kim Whittemore, Managing Director Kim founded GUIDE ISLAND LLC in 2008 after building a successful career as a C-level strategic marketing, business development and product development executive in both early-stage companies and Fortune 50 environments. Her track record includes successes in start-ups, turnarounds, joint ventures and strategic alliances.Kim has over 10 years of international experience including 3 years living and working in Europe. Kim also serves as Managing Director of Miller Communications Group in San Francisco,with emphasis on life sciences and healthcare technology clients. She is one of 13 Experts for Forbes “America’s Most Promising Companies” program and a designated Expert in strategy, marketing, product development and general management for Michael Milken’s Bizmore.com venture. Kim is personally committed to women’s health and in particular,women’s sexual health. Kim serves on the Board of Directors of the Institute for Sexual Medicine, has participated in San Diego Sexual Medicine’s quarterly patient panel as part of its “Sex in our City”series. She recently appeared on Discovery Health TV and in EmpowHER women’s health website videos dealing with women’s sexual health. Kim is also active in the American Red Cross Aphaeresis donor program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, attended graduate courses in Computer Science at MIT. Kim is a member of the Advisory Board for the Master of Science in Organization Leadership Program at Cabrini College, a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum (San Diego), Forte Foundation and an Advisory Board member for two of her privately-held clients as well as a co-founder of the Schmincke Research Alliance in Baltimore, MD.
