Lisa Ohlen Harris, author of the recently-released book, The Fifth Season, A Daughter-in-Law's Memoir of Caregiving, joins Denise to share her caregiving story.
Lisa shared a household with her mother-in-law, Jeannie, for seven years. As Jeannie’s health declined due to COPD and related issues, Lisa became Jeannie’s primary caregiver, struggling to balance caregiving with the challenges of raising four young children. Lisa and Jeannie together navigated household tensions, medical care, and end-of-life issues, including hospice care for Jeanne in the extended-family home.
