Join Candidly Candace as she talks about health and wellness with Tracye McQuirter author of "By Any Greens Necessary". Tracye Lynn McQuirter, MPH, has led vegan nutrition seminars worldwide and helped thousands master the knowledge and skills to achieve extraordinary health through plant-based foods. As a nationally known public health nutritionist, health speaker and 20-year vegan, McQuirter directed the nation’s first federally funded vegan nutrition program and helped create the strategy for a groundbreaking lawsuit won by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine against the USDA, which proved food industry bias in the formation of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines. She also created the first comprehensive website targeting the country’s estimated 1.5–3 million African American vegetarians (blackvegetarians.org) and founded the Black Vegetarian Society of New York. McQuirter is the nutrition expert for Healthy You Now, a website that supports optimal lifestyles of health and wellness for women: www.healthyyounow.com. McQuirter has been interviewed and featured in dozens of media outlets, including The Washington Post, Ebony, Essence, Black Press USA, more than 40 African American newspapers nationwide, Fox 5 News (Washington, DC), NBC 4 (Washington, DC), VegNews, VegTV, Pacifica Radio and Animal Voices Radio in Canada. She was a contributing writer for Heart & Soul, the largest health and fitness magazine for African American women, and a nutrition consultant for the Black Women’s Health Imperative, the largest health advocacy organization for black women and girls.
