Health Care
The health care system here in the United States lags behind a lot of other countries and is light years ahead of others. Our system is not completely broke it is however flawed. It does not work for everyone and that is the biggest flaw in it. When something is broke or not working 100% what do you do? First you have to find out what the problem is, and I bet we can all agree that the biggest issue with health care not working is that it is just so expensive. Why is health care so expensive here in the States? To find out the answer to that we must go back to the beginning. We have to go back to the fundamentals of our health care system.
This may sound hard and nearly impossible but it is in fact relatively easy. Take a look at your last medical bill. Most are itemized to show how much each thing on your bill costs and then the total of course. Well lets look at each line of that bill and determine why they all cost what they do. It is almost like finding out why a pair of shoes cost $50.00, There is the cost of materials, labor, shipping and storage. We know that if we buy a pair of shoes for $50.00 we can trace where that money is going. Who is making what, how much the manufacturer is earning, the assembly line worker, the sales man. The state and federal taxes. We can see where each penny goes. By doing this it allows us to look at where we can cut costs to reduce the cost to the consumers.
With medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies we can do the same thing in fact I have done so with my last medical bill. My last bill was for $634.67 this total did not even include the medicine I would need to get better. I found that the most expensive charge was for all the hospital did. They had to charge me that much to recoup their costs of my care. For each patient that goes into a hospital there are over head costs just like any other business. There are over head costs for electricity, land rent, employee wages and materials. Of all of their over head costs the most expensive is the wages of their doctors and nurses. I found myself asking why a doctor had to charge $125.00 per visit when the actual time spent with each patient averages out to less then 35 minutes. I have asked a few doctors about this charge and how they can justify it and they all said the same thing it is the going rate and that there are other doctors who charge much more. This is so true go to a dentist and you’ll pay $65.00 for the office visit and another $120.00 to have a tooth pulled plus $25.00 for the x-ray. So in just one visit to the dentist you can pay upwards of $210.00 and you will spend more time in the waiting room then the dentist will spend with you. WHY? No matter where you look or who you ask the reasons are different, but the truth is all these doctors and nurses have to get paid a lot cause they themselves have paid a lot just to learn their trade. Of course they had to take out hefty loans student loans and personal loans just to get through school, so now they are out of school they have to charge an arm and a leg to repay their loans and for their cost of living.

This is the trend through out our industries the more you pay to learn a trade the more you have to charge in order to recoup you investments. So I wonder what if the cost of learning was lowered? Would that have an impact on the cost of a doctors visit? In order to solve a problem you need to get to the root of the problem, and with health care it appears that the root of the problem is not in the insurance industry but in the academic one. I know what many are thinking right now if insurance cost less more people could afford medical coverage and that is also true, but has anyone asked why insurance cost so much? It all comes back to the cost of learning. We are giving out billions to bankers and car makers and to help cover the costs of medical attention, But what if we could lower the cost to learn the medical trade? How many doctors and nurses could we put through school with just 1 billion dollars? Why not do that? Lets cut the costs at their root lets put as many doctors and nurses through school as we can. We will pay for their medical educations and in return they will work in city and state hospitals for a certain number of years at a set rate. By reducing the amounts the doctors have to charge we would reduce the over all cost of health care. We would also recoup our billion dollar investment ten fold by saving how much the government has to spend on health care for the uninsured. I am putting together a step by step blue print on how we could make this work and how much we would benefit from it. As soon as I am done I will share it with all of you…

About Me > Part 2
OK, lets get this out of the way. YES I have smoked pot and Yes I have inhaled. See it was not that hard to say. Am I in debt and do I owe any back taxes? I am an American what do you think? It is the American way to be in debt and as far as taxes go as of today I do not think I owe any back taxes. Since I do not have enough money to employ an immigrant I bet I do not have any issues there. I have been in trouble with the law once or twice or maybe a few other times as well but I have not ever be convicted of a felony. When you can’t afford a lawyer you always plea bargain. These are things that I feel will serve me well as president for I have lived the life of the average American.
Other little fun facts. I farted just a second ago, I burp when I drink soda, I’ll vomit if I drink to much special soda. I was just forced to watch High School Musical 3 with my 3 year old daughter. I do not care who wins an Oscar tonight. Ok I am just trying to fill space now hope you are amused. But really I will share anything that I can with you all something no other politician would ever do. Why they feel the need to have every word they say written by others is beyond me, and why they hold the way they are in real life to guarded only makes me think they are hiding something.
No man, woman or child is perfect in fact it is our own unique habits and past actions that define us as who we are. With out living the life I have I would not have the courage to stand up for what I believe in. I would not have the courage to go shopping in my old, torn faded sweats. The person you are in the morning is the person you are putting on a suit or nice dress does not change that. I am willing to bet anything that every President we have ever had has had a wet fart and scratched their ass.
We do not vote for the best looking or smartest we vote for the one who has the back bone to actually do what he or she says they are going to do. We need a president who is willing to check their ego at the door. We have never had that they all say they are servants of the people but everyone in the room must stand when they enter, they must be addressed as Mr. President. Correct me if I am wrong but we have not had a female president yet, Right? And being elected does not change your name, Right? So why then do we treat the President differently then any one else? The president serves us the people we do not serve them. I will serve the people…

About Me > Part 1
My name is John C Smith and I am running for President. This will not be an easy task and I know it may be a futile effort, but I have never given up on anything in my life and I will not give up on this great country of ours.
I am a married man with three wonderful children and over the years my wife and kids have become my source of strength. I have always been very opinionative and never shy away from a good fight or debate. I did not attend collage and left school in the 12th grade to work as a roofer. Do I regret that now? I did for awhile but now I look around and see that I have a job even in this bad economy and the numbers of unemployed are high and do not care about what your level of education is.
Education is important I am not saying it is not. I have three children and ensure they go to school everyday. What type of parent would I be if I didn’t want better for my children? What I am saying is looking at our past Presidents we have had a few that some would say were the best ever and they had no real formal education. Looking at the private sector many of the richest people right here in America never went to collage either, So although I agree education is vital it is not the only thing needed to be a success or to lead others.
Sometimes street smarts are better to have then book smarts. Anyone can learn to get smarter, but once you pass a certain age you can not really learn the street smarts any more that is something that takes real life lessons to learn. And lets face it that is what Government is, it is just another type of neighborhood where only the strongest survive. It should not be that way, the strongest should be watching out for the weaker ones, it says so right in our constitution.
My fellow Americans John F Kennedy said “ Ask not what you can do for your country, but what can your country do for you” He was right when he said that but we the people must first put the right people in government and that is why I am running for president.

I am running for president !
On this day the 19 of February in the year 2009 I have decided that I will be running to become our 45th President of the United States..
I will start my campaign now cause I am an unknown and want the people to get to know me as much as possible. I believe that our problems as a nation can be solved and will be solved but not by anyone who holds any office today. As long as the people running our federal government and local state government offices are tied to a particular party affiliation then we as Americans do not stand a chance of proper representation. I know that all Americans pledge their support to a political party of some sort whether it be Republicans or Democrats or any of the other hundreds of parties out there we all share one common party affiliation we are all Americans.
That will be my party for which I run for president I am running for the American people. I do not care how old you are, what color you are or if you can donate money. Unlike all of our past presidents I do not wish to represent only a certain group of people. I wish to represent all Americans.
I will be posting blogs that tell you all about me and my opinions on all issues and will respond to any requests for my stance on any issue. It will be my goal to bring all parties together and unite us all under one party, The American Party.
Thank you all for your time and I look forward to hearing from each and everyone of you in the future.
