It's time for the last Big Four PPV of the year as WWE moves into Staples Center in Los Angeles for four straight nights with, in order - NXT War Games, Survivor Series, RAW and SmackDown Live.
Survivor Series has traditionally been marketed as Brand versus Brand, but this year with all the twists of fate leading to the event in the last couple months, perhaps it's the creative teams fighting to survive. Roman Reigns leaving for medical treatment. The poor sale of Brock Lesnar regaining the Universal Championship. Daniel Bryan refusing to appear in Saudi Arabia and the now obvious storyline all along that had to be reworked. Alexa Bliss injured. Becky Lynch injured. Zelina Vega injured. And one common cause appearing for all three. But, as always, the show must go on. What would all us smarks do if it didn't?
Thank the wrestling gods for NXT and the second reborn War Games. A card that makes sense with storylines to sell it. This is what major PPVs are supposed to be about. Belt matches, feud settlements and a title gimmick that makes fans anticipate the festivities.
The Smarks will have plenty to discuss regarding the matches, the implications, the mess and the aftermath as the Company likes nothing more than removing all unknowns. Good luck with that.
