Marylou and Alan Falstreau - "It's The Stories You Tell That Color Your Life".

Join me as I interview Marylou and Alan Falstreau of Morro Bay, CA. Alan and artist, Marylou Falstreau have combined their talents and created “It’s The Stories You Tell That Color Your Life”. In a time when newscasters, friends and family tell stories that scare you, this book tells stories of understanding, healing and joy. It began in May of 2008. The “Crazy Ole Man” (Alan) left home between 5:30 and 6:00 every morning with his notebook in hand and his heart wide open. He recently had made the decision to leave his job and start a business of his own . . . a business more in alignment with his nature . . . a business that would use his many talents. The notebook was for recording ideas. Aimlessly wandering, he eventually made his way down to the harbor of the Central Coast town where he lives. Observing the nature of pelicans, sea lions, and other early bird coffee seeking locals, he began to write. The words came quickly and effortlessly. “Where is this coming from?,” he wondered. Returning home, amazed, he shared his daily message with his wife Marylou. She was equally amazed. They were beginning to believe anything was possible. Find out more on Wednesday, June 24, 8 am pst.

How to Be a "TOPGUN" Photographer!

Phil Cisneros, Host, (www.philcisneros.com) interviews famed and talented photographer and instructor Hal Schmitt at the Light Photographic Workshop (http://www.leppphoto.com) with his wife Victoria. If you want to increase your photography skills, you'll want to hear about the Photographic Light Workshop, located on the Central Coast of California. Hal started his photography and digital imaging experience two short years ago when he, along with wife Victoria, purchased the Lepp Institute of Digital Imaging from Canon Explorer of Light George Lepp. With no formal training, owning no cameras, and heard to remark "Photoshop? What's that?" Hal hit the ground running and has not looked back. At the Institute he trained night and day with industry leading photographers, Photoshop Gurus, and Print masters until his skills were honed and ready. He began to instruct his own courses at the Institute in the fall of 2007 and has since taught over 1000 people and led more than twenty five major courses and photo tours. Although he teaches at all levels, everything is about the basics, "If your fundamentals are strong, you have a firm foundation upon which to rapidly build your skills." Before picking up his first DSLR, Hal spent fourteen years as a decorated, combat veteran flying FA-18 Hornets and Super Hornets in the U.S. Navy. He was fortunate to fly over 2,000 hours and accumulate over 550 carrier arrested landings. As a two-time TOPGUN Instructor, Hal taught advanced strike fighter tactics at the Navy Fighter Weapons School for over five years. He often relates many of his current subjects to things he learned and taught at TOPGUN. Of course, most things now are "a bit slower and a lot less dangerous."

The Threshold Project: The Legacy We Leave

Host, Phil Cisneros (www.philcisneros.com), will be interviewing Dr. Michael Fratkin, Program Director and Founder of The Threshold Project of Arcata, CA (www.thresholdproject.com). The Threshold Project offers educational programs for those whose work places them in a role of service to the dying and their caregivers. It also recognizes the value of presence in the care of people as they approach death. How we serve individuals as they approach the completion of life has impact on the living, profoundly influencing culture. The Threshold Project Services include having a dying person write their own life story or obituary, planning their own memorial service and creating written and audio-visual legacy projects that those left behind can reflect on for years to come, generation to generation. Michael's compassion and service to the honoring of individuals is to be commended. This show not only is an interview, but an opportunity for the listeners participate in this incredible project.
