Melissa Dinwiddie has always had a lot of creative interests, which led to a bit of an identity crisis. When meeting someone new she was never clear how to identify herself: as an artist? A designer? A musician? A writer? She finally decided to stop trying to shoehorn herself into a particular niche, and settled on a more all-encompassing job title: Multi-Passionate Creative ARTrepreneur. ARTrepreneur (rather than entrepreneur), because Melissa's various careers all revolve around one art form or another. Since 1996 she's created calligraphic artworks and design for private clients on a commission basis, and through her website, Ketubahworks.com, she offers a selection of ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) and wedding certificate prints, which she prints herself in-house, along with matching invitations and other lifecycle art and design. She is a sought-after teacher and has been flown around the country to present workshops on calligraphy, illumination and book arts. Melissa is also an accomplished jazz singer, interpreting standards as well as writing witty and sardonic jazz and blues-inspired songs about the trials and tribulations of daily life. As if that weren't enough, she also offers copywriting services to businesses of all sizes, creates WordPress websites for artists, life coaches and other solopreneurs, and writes on her blog, Living A Creative Life, about her own path to following her evolving Blisses and creating the life she really wants. Melissa's latest project is a course to inspire artists and creatives who dream of taking the leap to supporting themselves from their art or creative thing. Called the Thriving Artists Project, the heart of the course will be a collection of audio interviews with artists and creatives of all stripes who are successfully making a living doing what they love.Join Dennis Charles every weekday at 11am ET when he talks with an expert guest.
