Hi! Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment - As for McNabb, I think his keister is cooked in Philly and will be released at the end of the season or possibly traded, but he is making 10 miliion plus next year so I don't know if a team will pay him that kinda money to perform the way he's been performing lately and no one wants their "leader" yawning on the sidelines. Yep, the cameras caught him during the Ravens game, yawning . . . As for Chicago, I think they finally feel like they have their guy in Kyle Orton who was playing well before he got injured. If they were smart they wouldn't go back to the constant QB shuffling of the past few seasons. I doubt he ends up there . . .

Friday night was the night that Women’s MMA made another mark into history, with more coverage and articles and being able to buy a match for online viewing and then watching another fight on Showtime just made the night even better.Tara LaRosa (18-1) against Valerie Coolbaugh (4-2) at the “Locked in the Cage” main event in Philadelphia Friday night was a great match that I got to watch, spending seven bucks on the fight was well worth it, also saw some great amateur fights before the main event. If you missed the fight for some reason you can view it here: fight. Right from the start both fighters looked confident and of course the hometown crowd did not take to well to Valerie she moved on with pride and confidence and made me proud that I got to interview her before her fight with Tara. Tara according to my buddy MarQ-News Editor from fightergirls.com says that Tara is pound for pound #1 fighter in the world in the 125lbs division. I do have to say that I disagree a little, I still think Sarah Kaufman (10-0) is #1 in the world. Tara did a great job against Valerie and put her down 3:35 in the first round with a rear naked choked. Congrats to both fighters you made another dent in Women’s MMA! Keep up the great work.Another big fight was on Friday and it was a fight to remember, Kerry Vera (2-0) goes against Kim Couture (1-2), again if you missed the fight you can view it here: Fight. Both fighters looked confident and ready to battle and a battle it was, right from the beginning both fighters were feeling each other out and then the punches flew, Kim stayed with her game plan and Kerry was backed up a few times and Kerry did say after the match “She hit me and I thought to myself I need to get going here”, Kerry then made Kim pay for that hit, she got the upper advantage closer to the end of the round with some great punches to Kim’s face and the right at 3:30 mark in the round Kerry finished her off with a flurry of punches and Kim goes down like a log at 3:35 mark and the ref had to stop the fight to protect the fighter. So overall Showtime put on a great show and that fight is in the history books now.Again check out Kerry Vera’s interview with SportsGeeks before her fight with Kim. Interview

MMAJunkie posted:The California-based Strikeforce promotion makes its first trip to Florida in January. The organization today officially announced the first Showtime-broadcast event of 2010 will take place on Jan. 30 at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla.The card will feature female champion Cris "Cyborg" Santos and the MMA debut of former NCAA and NFL great Herschel Walker, though opponents for the duo were not announced.Santos is expected to make her first title defense after defeating Gina Carano in August for Strikeforce’s first-ever female belt. The hard-hitting Brazilian has been inactive since the contest while recovering from a shoulder injury.Santos is expected to meet Dutch fighter Marloes Coenen, who defeated Roxanne Modafferi on the preliminary card of Strikeforce and M-1 Global’s "Fedor vs. Rogers" event earlier this month. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMAjunkie.com that the bout was considered a No. 1 contender matchup."It’s definitely a No. 1 contender’s (bout)," Coker told MMAjunkie.com. "Whoever wins this fight will fight Santos."Meanwhile, Walker makes his professional debut at 47 years old. The former Heisman Trophy winner and two-time Pro Bowl running back signed with Strikeforce in September, and he is expected to train at California’s American Kickboxing Academy in preparation for the contest.Walker is a longtime practitioner of traditional martial arts. The former football star is a sixth-degree black belt in tae kwon do who has also trained in Muay Thai and Kenpo karate.BankAtlantic Center is perhaps most famous (or infamous) in MMA circles as the host venue for EliteXC’s ill-fated Oct. 2008 event, "Heat," where company star Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson was upset by last-minute replacement Seth Petruzelli.Ticket information for the Jan. 30 event has not yet been released. For complete coverage of Strikeforce in Florida, stay tuned to the MMA Rumors section of MMAjunkie.com.
