Wow this is different Brett Favre's wife, Deanna, defended the New York Jets quarterback against recent accusations that he tried to sabotage his former team, the Green Bay Packers.
"Brett does not, in any way, hold a vendetta against his former team," Deanna said, writing on favrehopefoundation.blogspot.com in a post dated Friday. "But that has not stopped some from scrutinizing his every move and blaming him for so many things that simply are not true."
The New York Jets quarterback acknowledged Wednesday that he spoke to former Detroit president Matt Millen a few weeks ago, but denied reports he called Millen and gave him and Lions coaches information they could use in a game against the Green Bay Packers.
Favre, who had a bitter split with the Packers in the offseason, said Millen called to invite him to go hunting. The friends then briefly talked about football.
“I didn’t give him any game planning,” Favre said. “I haven’t been in that offense in over a year. I don’t know what else to tell you. It was pretty simple.”
Deanna Favre was writing her first post on the blog, which is normally authored by their daughter, Brittany, ESPN reported.
"Sure, for some, it is difficult to understand the tough choices we have recently made for our lives," Deanna wrote. "But, although Brett may be in a new uniform on the football field, he is still the same man that all of you have loved, cheered and supported for the past two decades."
