Hi! Thanks for reading my blog and leaving a comment - As for McNabb, I think his keister is cooked in Philly and will be released at the end of the season or possibly traded, but he is making 10 miliion plus next year so I don't know if a team will pay him that kinda money to perform the way he's been performing lately and no one wants their "leader" yawning on the sidelines. Yep, the cameras caught him during the Ravens game, yawning . . . As for Chicago, I think they finally feel like they have their guy in Kyle Orton who was playing well before he got injured. If they were smart they wouldn't go back to the constant QB shuffling of the past few seasons. I doubt he ends up there . . .

RIP Sean Taylor, our prayers go out to the family of Sean Taylor
Sports Geeks
MIAMI -- Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor died early Tuesday, a day after the Pro Bowl player was shot at home by what police say was an intruder. He was 24.
In a statement released by the Redskins Tuesday morning, owner Daniel Snyder said, "This is the worst imaginable tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sean's family."
Family friend Richard Sharpstein said Taylor's father told him the news around 5:30 a.m.
"His father called and said he was with Christ and he cried and thanked me," said Sharpstein, Taylor's former lawyer. "It's a tremendously sad and unnecessary event. He was a wonderful, humble, talented young man, and had a huge life in front of him. Obviously God had other plans."
Taylor died at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he had been airlifted after the shooting early Monday, Sharpstein said.
Two carloads of mourners, including the athlete's father, arrived at the house Tuesday morning. They remained inside and did not speak to reporters. A single bouquet of flowers was left by a palm tree just outside a front gate. Beside the mailbox, an untouched newspaper lay with news of Taylor's shooting.
At Redskins Park in Ashburn, Va., fans began a makeshift memorial by laying flowers on a field near the front entrance. Several people paid silent respects at Taylor's parking space, a reward he received as the team's defensive player of the week in a game against Philadelphia in September.
Doctors had been encouraged late Monday when Taylor squeezed a nurse's hand, according to Vinny Cerrato, the Redskins' vice president of football operations. But Sharpstein said he was told Taylor never regained consciousness after being transported to the hospital and that he wasn't sure how he had squeezed the nurse's hand.
"Maybe he was trying to say goodbye or something," Sharpstein said.
Taylor, the fifth overall pick in the 2004 NFL draft following an All-American season at the University of Miami, was shot early Monday in the upper leg, damaging the key femoral artery and causing significant blood loss.
"According to a preliminary investigation, it appears that the victim was shot inside the home by an intruder," Miami-Dade County police said in a statement. "We do not have a subject description at this time."
But police were still investigating the attack, which came just eight days after an intruder was reported at Taylor's home. Officers were sent to the home about 1:45 a.m. Monday after Taylor's girlfriend called 911.
Sharpstein said Taylor's girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection. Someone then broke through the bedroom door and fired two shots, one missing and one hitting Taylor, Sharpstein said. Taylor's 1-year-old daughter, Jackie, was also in the house, but neither she nor Taylor's girlfriend were injured.
Police found signs of forced entry, but have not determined if they were caused Monday, or the previous burglary.
The shooting happened in the pale yellow house he bought two years ago. Eight days before the attack someone pried open a front window, rifled through drawers and left a kitchen knife on a bed at Taylor's home, according to police.
"They're really sifting through that incident and today's incident," Miami-Dade Detective Mario Rachid said, "to see if there's any correlation."
Taylor's death comes nearly a year after Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams was killed in a drive-by shooting following an argument at a Denver nightclub on Jan. 1. University of Miami defensive lineman Bryan Pata was shot to death in November 2006 several miles from Taylor's home in an unsolved killing.
Born April 1, 1983, Taylor starred as a running back and defensive back at Gulliver Prep in Miami. His father, Pedro Taylor, is police chief of Florida City.
A private man with a small inner circle, Taylor rarely granted interviews. But, behind the scenes, Taylor was described as personable and smart -- an emerging locker room leader.
"From the first day I met him, from then to now, it's just like night and day," Redskins receiver James Thrash said Monday. "He's really got his head on his shoulders and has been doing really well as far as just being a man. It's been awesome to see that growth."
After Taylor was drafted, problems soon began. Taylor fired his agent, then skipped part of the NFL's mandatory rookie symposium, drawing a $25,000 fine. Driving home late from a party during the season, he was pulled over and charged with drunken driving. The case was dismissed in court, but by then it had become a months-long distraction for the Redskins.
Taylor also was fined at least seven times for late hits, uniform violations and other infractions over his first three seasons, including a $17,000 penalty for spitting in the face of Tampa Bay running back Michael Pittman during a 2006 playoff game.
Meanwhile, Taylor endured a yearlong legal battle after he was accused in 2005 of brandishing a gun at a man during a fight over allegedly stolen all-terrain vehicles near Taylor's home. He eventually pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors and was sentenced to 18 months' probation.
Taylor said the end of the assault case was like "a gray cloud" being lifted. It was also around the time that his daughter was born, and teammates noticed a change.
On the field, Taylor's play was often erratic. Assistant coach Gregg Williams frequently called Taylor the best athlete he'd ever coached, but nearly every big play was mitigated by a blown assignment. Taylor led the NFL in missed tackles in 2006 yet made the Pro Bowl because of his reputation as one of the hardest hitters in the league.
This year, however, Taylor was allowed to play a true free safety position, using his speed and power to chase down passes and crush would-be receivers. His five interceptions tie for the league lead in the NFC, even though he missed the last two games because of a sprained knee.
"I just take this job very seriously," Taylor said in a rare group interview during training camp. "It's almost like, you play a kid's game for a king's ransom. And if you don't take it serious enough, eventually one day you're going to say, 'Oh, I could have done this, I could have done that.'
"So I just say, 'I'm healthy right now, I'm going into my fourth year, and why not do the best that I can?' And that's whatever it is, whether it's eating right or training myself right, whether it's studying harder, whatever I can do to better myself."

TAMPA, Fla. - Joe Kennedy, a journeyman left-hander who pitched forthree major league teams last season, died at his in-laws' home Friday. He was 28.
After going to bed early, Kennedy woke up at about1:15 a.m. Friday and collapsed as he was leaving a bedroom at the homeof his wife's parents, Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman DebbieCarter said. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue took Kennedy to BrandonHospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.
"This is tragicand stunning news, it is difficult to express the emotions felt by theBlue Jays players and our organization," Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi saidin a statement. "My sincere sympathies go to his wife, their son andthe entire family."
"We were terribly shocked," Blue Jayspresident Paul Godfrey told The Associated Press. "From what weunderstand he was in Brandon ... to be the best man at a wedding today."
Godfrey didn't have particulars on the cause of death.
"Obviously, when a 28-year-old man dies, ball player or not, it's a terrible, terrible thing," he said.
Kennedyspent seven years in the majors, playing last season with Oakland,Arizona and Toronto. He also spent time with Tampa Bay and Colorado andhad a 43-61 career record with a 4.79 ERA in 222 appearances.
"Hewas such a focused kid from the time we took him in the draft," saidFlorida Marlins vice-president Dan Jennings, who was the scoutingdirector for Tampa Bay when the Rays selected Kennedy in the 1998draft. "He was on a mission to become a major league pitcher."
Kennedy made his major league debut in June 2001 and made his last appearance in relief on Sept. 29 in a 5-3 win over Tampa Bay.
"Youthink all athletes and all young people are invincible," Jennings said."Then when you see something like this, it's very tragic."
Craig Weissmann, the Tampa Bay scout who signed Kennedy, described him as a fierce, determined competitor.
"Hereally dedicated himself and was really on a mission to become a majorleague pitcher," Weissmann said. "You wish as a scout and a majorleague organization, you wish every kid could develop that fast."
Godfrey said Toronto was interested in bringing Kennedy back.
"We had every intention to speak to him," he said. "We had him on our list to talk to."
Kennedy's agent, Damon Lapa, did not return phone calls and an e-mail from the AP.
"Hewas a valued teammate and friend to everyone with the A'sorganization," Oakland assistant general manager David Forst said in astatement. "On behalf of the entire A's organization, we extend ourcondolences to Joe's wife, Jami and his entire family."
Kennedystarted the 2007 season with Oakland as a starter but was moved to thebullpen after going 3-9 with a 4.37 ERA. He appeared in 27 games, including 16 starts, before being placed on waivers.
Claimed byArizona in August, he was released that month after just threeappearances. The Blue Jays signed him Aug. 29, and Kennedy got hisfirst win as a Blue Jay on Sept. 21, in New York against the Yankees.
Kennedyand his family still lived in the Denver area and had just bought a newhouse, Rockies first baseman Todd Helton, one of Kennedy's closestfriends, told the Denver Post.
"It's a sad day and a sad situation," Helton said. "He's leaving a wife and a little boy behind."
That family meant everything to Kennedy, Weissmann said.
"Hewas a great father. He loved that boy and his wife both more thananything in the world. That son of his was the apple of his eye,"Weissmann said. "He just was really looking forward to everything thata father shares with a son."

Tennessee running back Chris Henry dropped his appeal Wednesday and started serving his four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. His agent, Josh Luchs, confirmed that Henry dropped his appeal, which was scheduled to be heard Monday. The move would allow the rookie to return for the Titans' final two regular season games. Henry was not at practice Wednesday and cannot practice with the team during the four weeks.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- NFL officials are investigating whether Green Bay Packers players offered payments to teammates for achieving specific defensive goals.
League rules prohibit teams and players "from offering or accepting bonuses to a player for his or his team's performance against a particular team, a particular opposing player or players, or a particular group of an opposing team."
League spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed the investigation Monday.
ESPN reported that Packers defensive backs offered to pay the team's defensive linemen $500 each if they were able to hold Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson under 100 yards rushing two weeks ago, and another $500 for holding Carolina to under 60 yards rushing as a team on Sunday.
Peterson was held to 45 yards rushing before he left the Vikings' Nov. 11 loss to the Packers with an injury. But the Panthers rushed for 131 yards in Sunday's loss to Green Bay.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday morning he was not aware of the situation, but had not yet spoken to general manager Ted Thompson.
"I have no knowledge of that," McCarthy said. "I have not been made aware of that. I haven't talked to Ted today, so if it's something that happened this morning, we have not spoken." Packers players were not available to the media on Monday after their 31-17 victory over Carolina.
