1/19/2008 12:00 PM - Barack Obama & The "Black Vote"

    Greetings:

Join author Naija and guests as we discuss the politics. The topic will surround presidential candidate Barack Obama and the black vote. Consider the following conversational elements:

    1)
The Black Vote – what does that mean and how do you interpret it?

    2)
As African Americans, are you afraid to vote for Barack Obama?

    3)
Do you feel a Black man will really become the next president? Why/why not?

    4)
Will ignorance across racial groups split the votes?

    5)
Does Barack Obama have your vote? Why/why not?

    6)
What are the key issues that you feel are important in the 2008 election?

    7)
Will you support Barack Obama? If so, is it because he’s Black or because you believe in his ability to lead the United States in a new and improved direction?

    8)
Are you one of those with the mentality that a vote on the Black man is a wasted vote? If so, how do we change that mentality across society and within our own culture?

    9)
General discussion on the pros/cons of each candidate in the race.

    10)
Where do you stand and will you make or break history?

All are welcome. Be sure to come ready to chat. This upcoming election is going to be critical. Personally, I get tired of hearing black folks talking about they don’t vote, aren’t voting, etc. You better exercise your rights before someone takes them away. Let’s talk about that too. How people complain about the elected officials yet refuse to vote!

    Peace & Blessings,
    Naija
