“What exactly makes a Man / Woman a ‘Gold-digger’?

This Sunday evening, The Brother Marcus Show! is back with another exciting discussion on Male / Female Relationships in our community. A gold digger is described in the Urban Dictionary as any person whose primary interest in the relationship is material and financial benefits. They are also described as someone who cares more about their partner’s bank account than they do about their actual partner. One man said he went to a house of worship and he described all of the women there as, “a bunch of holy gold diggers.” Our discussion demands that we ask, “What gold are women looking for in a man? Is it money that women are allegedly digging for in the man’s wallet or is something deeper that’s supposed to be in their hearts, minds and souls? Can a woman gold dig on a poor man and is there something wrong with a man financially providing for his family? Can a man be a gold digger in this day and time as well? How and in what ways? Have you met any males like this? Is it wrong for a man to look to a woman to pay all the expenses after he leaves his mommas house? Shouldn’t she at least be willing to go half with a man in these difficult financial times? What makes a man “hen pecked” and are some men really into “sugar mommas”? Are we in a time where the poor man can only show a woman where the financially stable man went? Why are so many men looking for a woman to financially provide for them?
