Call in to speak with the host
Lyme disease is the most commonly reported vector borne illness in the U.S. In 2011, it was the 6 most common Nationally Notifiable Disease.
Rosa L. NeSmith has a story of tremendous resilience. In 2008 she was diagnosed with Lyme disease after seeing 15 doctors and nearly dying from the severely overlooked disease. She encountered an infected tick bite from working in her garden. Now at age 48, she has lost eight years of her life from the devastation of Lyme disease.
After Ms. NeSmith recovered from the critical stages of the illness, she became acutely aware of the lack of knowledge surrounding Lyme disease on a broader scale; from the doctors to the patient-consumers. She was then inspired to be an advocate.
Listen as host, Nicole Cleveland chats with Rosa about her VICTORIOUS testimony and book," A Race Against Time: Living With Lyme"
Rosa is also the founder of Lyme Survivor Awareness Network (LSAN) Inc. , a national nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia.
