Is chronic pain following your traumatic brain injury interfering with your life? There is a way to eliminate that pain and Joseph Jacobs, DPT, ASTR, has created some tools and a particular technique to help with just that. He is a cancer survivor who developed this technique to enhance his own situation, as well as to treat others whose lives have devolved into endless pain.  His patients appreciate the immediate and long-lasting relief.

He has read many materials about the causes of tissue pain, and has done extensive research on his own to discover the most effective type of treatment for bodily discomfort. He particularly studied the various connections and relationships of the various layers of soft tissue (joints, fascia, and connective tissue) in the human body. However, this pain is not due to one particular dysfunction, but arises from a variety of causes.

He analyzed the 10 stages that most people go through following any type of trauma (from the inflammation and subsequent formation of scar tissue through the disturbance of muscles and related tissues to the eventual effect upon gait, balance, and life style). Dr. Jacobs believes that one of the reasons chronic pain sufferers go from Dr. to Dr. is that no one addresses the whole picture effectively. Through his study and research, he believes he has found such a treatment. He has named this treatment ASTR (Advanced Soft Tissue Release) and he will discuss why it works.
