Internationally published in numerous anthologies, including the bestselling Cup of Comfort series, award-winning author Louise Mathewson has always written about the sacred moments in everyday experiences. Today, those experiences hold even deeper meaning.
Her book, A Life Interrupted: Living with Brain Injury, is a collection of transformative poetry chronicling her emergence from a coma following an auto-accident in which she suffered a serious Traumatic Brain Injury, her recovery journey, and triumphant return to her writing career. Writing poetry became her lifeline.
A Life Interrupted: Living with Brain Injury speaks to all who face the daily physical, emotional and spiritual challenges of living with any life-changing physical or mental health condition, including the family and caregivers who support them. Louise believes that writing is healing and research supports that. She also loves sharing resources that she found helpful in transcending trauma. Louise, who holds a Master’s in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University Chicago, a Bachelor’s in Latin, is a lover of words. She used to facilitate support groups for children of divorce, alcoholism, and grief, teaching children healthy ways to express feelings of loss. Louise is a passionate advocate for the many who face the daily physical, emotional and spiritual challenges of living with a disability. http://www.pearlsong.com/alifeinterrupted.htm,
