** About Shannon **

For a flower to grow and blossom, it has to go thru a lot of dirt. It also needs a lot of care and nuturing.  This analogy reminds me of all the tough as well as rewarding experiences I have had in life. Your life can change in a split second! I suffered severe traumatic brain injury on November 17, 1984 at the age of fifteen. The car accident left me in a deep coma for two months. My rehabilitation was learning to walk, talk, chew, swallow, and most importantly, to SMILE!!!  The doctor's prognosis was not good, but my true grit determination proved them all wrong. With my Mother's "Never Give Up" attitude, she instilled in me that anything is possible. Abraham Lincoln once said, "Most folks are about as happy as
they make up their minds to be." This has become my philosophy on life.
