BRAD KRONEN’S “WELCOME TO THE SOLAR SYSTEM”

Jupiter – Blind Luck or Goodwill with Vision?

People, karma doesn’t have short cuts. Nor does it have the same effect of “trading it all in” for a GRAND ULTRA PRIZE!!!!!! As Westerners, especially Americans, these thoughts don’t necessarily sit well with us. Our culture has more or less shown us the glamour of being greedy, or should I say karmicly lazy by having us shout such fervent phrases as:
“Wheel……………of………………..Fortune!” “Who wants to be a Millionaire?”
“Deal or no deal?”
“(Insert random name) come on down! You’re the next contestant on the Price is Right!’
I always find it fascinating yet annoying when doing the solar system that right before the great malefic, Saturn, comes the great benefic, Jupiter. I always feel the need to act as Saturn’s hard sale spokesperson by emphasizing “If you want to get to the lottery winning creamy goodness of Jupiter, you’re going to have to experience the bitter yet fiber and iron enriched Saturn.” Truth be told, more people will want to listen to a lecture or talk radio show about anything to do with luck or fortune versus life’s lessons learned the hard way or rewards reaped from learning from one’s mistakes.
Picture my surprise when I recently spotted a news headline that read:
“LOTTERY WINNER GIVES IT ALL AWAY!”
Not trusting what I saw, I at first misread it as “Lottery winner spends winnings right away!” and truly was shocked to see otherwise. Last spring, Jim Dancy of Richland, Michigan won the state lottery upon which he then proceeded to write a check to the United Way for the same amount he had won! This isn’t “Big Money, No Whammies!”……this is actually that OTHER side of Jupiter that everyone seems to forget but is just as valid, strong and equal as luck and fortune combined – Goodwill Towards Men.
Jupiter has pretty much everything to do with a higher power for we as mortals really don’t have to “do” anything to reap its benefits – you simply are lucky or you aren’t. How wondrous then that the first time the phrase “Goodwill Towards Men” is brought to our ears is actually by higher level beings, Angels, when a multitude of them proclaim :
“Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men!”
Times are hard, this we know. People tend to look for any get rich quick solution when times become challenging. But the more we hear requests of helping someone “down on their luck” we need to amp up “Goodwill Towards Men” just as badly to even things out.
So join me won’t you? Because luck be a planet tonight!
Jupiter Fun Fact: In astrology, Jupiter is called “the great benefic” because of its association with luck and divine blessings or guidance. The King of Planets is the “great benefic” to planet Earth in the most literal sense as well – Jupiter’s magnetic belt deflects asteroids and other life destroying space objects from hurdling right towards us! To bring this point home, a mere few weeks ago scientists noticed that the surface of Jupiter had a brand new bright spot on its surface indicating an impact scar. They theorize that whatever hit Jupiter as of late was around the size of the Earth’s entire Pacific Ocean!
