    Dream Interpretation Show

Ah, synchronicity once again!   My “Dream Interpretation” show occurs right before I begin my next series of astrological talk radio shows called “Welcome to the Solar System”.  And the title for the first show from that series is “The Moon – The Smallest of Satellites is one of the Largest Determinates of Ourselves”.

The Moon is the BEHEMOTH of personality representation in astrology and its domain of influence over us is not only vast but in many ways determines how our lives will fare in this life cycle!  Whereas the Sun represents the energies and dynamics of the Self and the ego, The Moon supplies all the background information of a person’s overall emotional state, how intuitive he is, what kind of relationship he has with his parents, how he looks at or deals with his past, what his childhood was like and what kind of dynamics his family had during that time, what kind of home environment did he have during his childhood and in turn, what kind of home environment does he establish currently, what kind of attachment does he have to his country or to his ancestry, and lastly what kind of dream cycles does he have and what gives him a sense of security?

I tend to overlook how The Moon is interchangable with those things that make most of secure – a supportive significant other, an ample bank account, a big bowl of warm Mac and cheese (they don’t call it “comfort food” for nothing)!

With all of that said, our dream cycles reflect how secure we are with our environments at a set moment in time.  The more chaotic or less secure a person’s world is, the more he turns to his lunar side resulting in dreams that are chock full of symbolism but are as extreme and have little to do with the mundane or reality as possible.  It then dawned on me, excuse me! it then lunar eclipsed on me that since the global economy has pretty much obliterated anything we assumed to be long standing and well established, then the world must be in the midst of a dream cycle that is of hallucenogenic drug trip proportions!!  Simultaneously I would theorize that currently there are more and more people tapping into their intuitive faculties who are not only receiving dreams of foresight, or visions of the future but are also seeing various solutions or methods of approach the world can take in order for society to go forward and evolve as a whole!!  Things to ponder and be aware of from here on in!

The Song of the Day, I mean Night, has less to do with a person taking steps to go forward based on the absence of emotional security and more about a person’s refusal to deal with the past along with the lack of security in her present leading to the disintegration of her emotional self or Moon and eventually causing self annihiliation.

"Nightmares" is by a band that does not get the credit it deserves but instead is the punchline for all hair jokes of the latter part of the 20th century, A Flock of Seagulls.  In giving tonight's show I really wanted my viewers to take heed of one's past and the powerful force of the subconscious, for neither shall be denied!  If we experience any extreme form of pain, humiliation, embarrassment, or shock, our brains are brilliantly designed to protect us by simply making us "forget" these events.   Unfortunately, the subconscious doesn't forget a thing and when quickly thrown a particularly painful memory that the conscious mind chooses not to recognize in self protection, the subconscious will very, very slowly ingest every part of it making sure it has retained the memory in its entirety.  When the digestion is complete, the subconscious is now stengthened and ready to flex its muscle to show that it is far stronger than the conscious mind.  If we have repressed or denied any pain from our past, the subconscious will bide its time and then will use its full force to slam it to the surface by having it rear its ugly head in the oddest of ways and at the most inopportune moments. Sensations will come out of nowhere or our bodies will have lightning fast physical reactions such as panic or anxiety attacks, hyperventalation, total lack of concentration, or night terrors and even fainting spells which will eventually cause everything in our present life to be put on hold until this powerful pain from the past is recognized and dealt with.  The thing that is truly frightening about these traumatic episodes is that they shake our emotional foundations to the core.

The words to "Nightmares" are so apropos because as a grown woman keeps waking up in the middle of the night from the hidden terrors in her sleep, she calls out for something that for a good portion of us always gives us security – her mother.

When her conscious mind remembers that her mother has “gone beyond the veil” (aka died), she is so overwhelmed by realizing the raw void of basic emotional security will never be filled, that she goes into a reactive state by calling out to the darkness “Mama, do you love me still??”

And to me, this last image we see of Joan emotionally disintegrating brings us to a very bright full Moon circle and back to realizing that the fabric of one’s emotional core is dependent upon and connected to a HUGE array of factors – all of which are under the influence of the Moon as it waxes and wanes in the night sky.

    "Nightmares"
    by A Flock of Seagulls

You keep stopping when you could be walking

Looking at the pictures on the wall.
You keep quiet when you should be talking.
You just don't make any sense at all.

Remember when you were much younger,
And you were lying in your bed
Among the satin sheets and pillows,
Your mother there to ease your head.

Mama, Mama, I keep having nightmares.
Mama, Mama, Mama, am I ill?
Mama, Mama, Mama, hold me tightly.
Mama, Mama, do you love me still?

But now it's diff'rent you are older.
There's no one here to hold you hand.
Your Mama's gone beyond the veil, Joan.
There's no one left who understands.

Mama, Mama, I keep having nightmares.
Mama, Mama, Mama, am I ill?
Mama, Mama, Mama, hold me, hold me tighter.
Mama, Mama, do you love me still?

    Do you love me?
    Do you love me?

So you're left standing in the corner.
You keep your face turned to the wall.
    A fading dream, a fading mem'ry,
A shooting star that had to fall.

Mama, Mama, I keep having nightmares.
Mama, Mama, Mama, am I ill?
Mama, Mama, Mama, hold me, hold me tighter.
Mama, Mama, do you love me still?
    Do you love me?
Mama, Mama, do you love me still?
    Do you love me?
Mama, Mama, do you love me still?
    Do you love me?
    Mama?
