    Sagittarius Song of the Day
from Brad Kronen's "Welcome to the Zodiac" Series

You probably have all ready guessed that I love not only finding a song that really fits the energy of each of my show's topics but having the artist be the same sign is an extra treat too.) Well you're in LUCK because we have just that for the lucky ones - Sagittarius. As an astrologer and one with a Capricorn Moon, I believe that there is a price to pay for everything. How does that apply to the Sag? Well they are naturally lucky and tend to have a knack for being in the right place and the right time so that they are quite used to things going their way. Their price to pay can be in a few ways - "expecting" that this will always be the case and therefore having no sense of hard work or discipline which leaves them totally unprepared for when life throws curve balls (and it ALWAYS does for every person on this planet.) So that when things get hard the Sag pays dearly by immediately falling apart and not being any kind of support for others. Another interesting way they pay is that their luck factor can have an odd effect on others and bring out weird sentiments like resentment or jealousy. So that's why the song of the day is quite fitting. Firstly it was written and is sung by a child of Jupiter - the great Joan Armatrading and it is so aptly titled "I'm Lucky". You'd think with a title like that it would be quite the toe tapper, but the opening chords are both stark and dark (hey I rhymed!). There is a sense of isolation and seperateness even though she can "walk under ladders." If you can, try to listen to this song as well as read the lyrics to get the full effect. On a lighter note, I highly recommend every Sagittarian out there to listen to your fellow centaur's amazing work, Beethoven's 9th Symphony. (9 is a Sag number by the way). And my extra super challenge to all you lucky Sags is hard because it is going to take some toil. At some point in your lucky lives you need to see this piece performed live because there is nothing that can compare to it when heard in concert. The second part of the 9th Symphony is the "Ode to Joy" a piece sung by full 4 part chorus. Yours truly has sung this in concert with full orchestra and it is indescribable to explain how moving this music is. While I was singing, tears started streaming down my face because it is so joyous and people I am not known for being emotional at all, let alone in public. My favorite words are "Diesen Kuss der ganzen Welt!" - "This kiss is for the entire world!" A very Sagittarian token being that they are so global and big picture oriented. I felt as if I was in this massive wave while singing the 9th, this music is so forceful powerful and utterly optimistic, which is so.....Beethoven. It's such an anthem for a fire sign that the words "FIRE INSPIRED" are actually part of the lyrics!!!! It might take you a while to find this performed in concert because it is not done often, but when you do you'll be glad you're alive to witness this wondrous thing written by a son of Jupiter.

    "I'm Lucky"

    I'm lucky
    I'm lucky
    I can walk under ladders
    Yes I'm so lucky
    That I'm as lucky
    As me

    Struck it rich
    Dirty rich
    No work
    And get richer
    And the world
    Loves a winner
    Yes I'm so happy
    That you're happy
    With me

    You are happy too
    Ain't you baby

    Numero uno
    Living for
    Right now
    And it's
    L-I-V-I-N-G
    When I'm here
    With you

    I'm lucky
    I'm lucky
    I don't need a bracelet
    No salt
    For my shoulder
    I don't own a rabbit
    No clover
    No heather
    No cross
    No wonder
    I'm lucky

    "ODE TO JOY"
From The 9th Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven
Words by the German Philosopher Frederich von Schiller

O friends, no more these sounds!
Let us sing more cheerful songs, more full of joy!
    Joy, bright spark of divinity,
    Daughter of Elysium,
    Fire-inspired we tread
    Thy sanctuary.

    Thy magic power re-unites
    All that custom has divided,
    All men become brothers
Under the sway of thy gentle wings.
    Whoever has created
    An abiding friendship,
    Or has won
    A true and loving wife,
All who can call at least one soul theirs,
    Join in our song of praise;

But any who cannot must creep tearfully
    Away from our circle.

    All creatures drink of joy
    At nature's breast.
    Just and unjust
    Alike taste of her gift;
She gave us kisses and the fruit of the vine,
A tried friend to the end.
Even the worm can feel contentment,
And the cherub stands before God!

    Gladly, like the heavenly bodies
Which He set on their courses
    Through the splendor of the firmament;
Thus, brothers, you should run your race,
As a hero going to conquest.

    You millions, I embrace you.
This kiss is for all the world!

    Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving Father.
Do you fall in worship, you millions?
World, do you know your creator?
    Seek him in the heavens;
Above the stars must He dwell.
