he Congressional Black Caucus held a town hall and jobs fair in Atlanta on Thursday.  Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA),Reps. John Lewis (D-GA), Hank Johnson (D-GA)  thousands of job seekers attended the event. 
According to the Department of Labor, African American unemployment was 15.9% in July, higher than the national unemployment rate, which is just above 9%.

Tavis Smiley and Cornel West aka "Amos and Andy" end their Poverty Bus Tour”  to nowhere.
Steve Harvey read an email written by a listener who believed that West and Smiley’s “Poverty Bus Tour” was only a means for them to earn money and further denounce President Obama.

Harvey responded to the letter by saying, “I was a huge fan of Cornel West. But Tavis, I seen him coming a mile away. His anger started when he had a town hall meeting, President Obama couldn’t come because of the campaign trail and he sent Mrs. Obama. He has held that grudge ever since.”
West and mother did not received tickets to the inauguration in 2008.
