Its the NBA Summer League and the Celtics are part of the competition as usual. Meanwhile the Celtics already made it official that Center Aron Baynes will be a member of the team for atleast 1 more season. However the situation between the Celtics and Marcus Smart has become more complex and both sides do not seem like they are rushing to the negotiating table and it has caused Marcus Smart some displeasurement with the team. So what are we hearing now that its been 2 weeks of free agency action and Marcus Smart is still on the market. Should Marcus Smart feel upset that the Celtics didnt attent to him as fast as they did Aron Baynes or does Marcus Smart only have himself to blame due to his demands for a 14 million dollar a year type deal. Also reports have come out that Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler are both interested in joining forces to play in the Eastern Conference and this has many worried that the Celtics could be facing the possibility of losing Kyrie to the New York Knicks next summer if the Knicks agree to bring in Jimmy Butler as well and has some wondering if the Celtics should make a trade to bring in Butler from Minnesota and resign him in order to guarantee Kyrie Irving remains in Boston. Also it looks like a new twist has been thrown in the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes. As now with Lebron James on the Los Angeles Lakers it appears Kawhi would prefer to go to the Clippers where there wont be as much pressure and as much attention on him which has also made it that he would not want to stay with the Celtics as they would be the top team in the East making it all the lights on him. Reports say he would be willing to go to Philly. What would that mean for the Celtics. First guest will be Warren Shaw @ShawSportsNBA co-host of the @NBABaseline pod.
