Today's guest is William S. Russell. His young adult novels are a cross between Indiana Jones and Harry Potter.

This is Author’s Beat, sponsored by The Writers League of the Villages in central Florida. This program is hosted by award-winning author Mark H. Newhouse.

Steven, a young boy with incredible resourcefulness, finds himself thrown into a quests which take him to exotic places and perilous adventures in the Guardian of the Tomb Trilogy. In Book 1, Steven must find courage to search ancient Egyptian tombs to discover the guardian responsible for the death of his parents. He has only eight hours to complete his quest or he'll remain trapped in a 2,500-year-old nightmare.

And in Book 2, The Guardian of Mount Li, Steven travels through a time portal into the pits of the terracotta warriors of the Chinese
emperors, and in doing so, faces one challenge after another.

Let's visit with Bill Russell as he tells us how a lightning storm and his young grandson inspired him to create this exciting new series of books. You may even catch a hint of what he has planned for Book 3.
