Investing in a Fix & Flip property ... After an unprecedented drop in housing prices, many investors are buying up distressed properties, renovating them, and then reselling them to home buyers.  Officially we refer to this real estate investing strategy as Buying, Renovating, and Reselling - although most investors just refer to it as Fix & Flip.
This can be a very lucrative business for the contractors involved, and lucrative investment – but you'll learn on this show this is not an investment for the risk averse investor. Compared to most "passive" investments in Wall Street products, or other alternative investments, real estate investing is secured by a tangible asset. On the other hand, these projects require skill, hard work, and cash reserves for when schedule slip or budgets exceeded !
Most Fix & Flip projects have two investors involved, and we'll cover their roles, risks & returns, tax aspects, and the skills you'll need if you decide this real estate investing strategy is perfect for you.
