Scott Kelly started writing at a young age. Since he was a boy he was obsessed with reading whatever he could get his hands on, and by the time he was 11 he was finishing his first poetry chapbooks. When he was 15 he finished his first novel. When he was 19 his first book, Jimwamba, was published. A few years later and now he is promoting two books, Frightened Boy and (sic) His own storied past of drug abuse, depression, police trouble and Brushes with death often influence his writing and his public image. Recently he has moved past most of these activities, though his history often shines through his writing, adding a gritty realism to even his most surreal stories. His book Jimwamba established him as a darling of the indie presses, particularly in the United Kingdom, but he's seeking larger commercial affirmation - or to completely dominate the growing realm of e-Books - with his new projects.
