Book and Author Talk

I don't know whether to be melancholy or elated.

After two years of developing this novel, my manuscript for The Cruiserweight was completed at 4:57PM US Eastern Time September 30, 2010.

You read correct. Completed.

A copy of the manuscript is on its way to my publisher as we speak. 461 pages, 88 chapters, and 93, 537 words later, I not only met the deadline set for myself for the electronic version fall release, but also finished about three days ahead of schedule.

Now the hard work begins.  There will be interviews to conduct (I have two already booked for late October), more promoting to do, and of course, there's the process of uploading and setting up the page of the electronic version.

While the whole process of writing this book was serious hard work, it wasn't all bad. Along the way, I had the opportunity to meet and get to know some key figures in both the wrestling and writing industries personally, make some great friends among fellow authors, discover some new, upcoming writers, and of course, I can't fail to mention being part of Authors on Show.

There was the pleasant surprise of having my book trailer chosen by the Book Buzzer Blog for their September 13 entry, An Example of a Good Book Trailer.

But now, I'm done. There's still one more version of the book's cover to be designed, and that should be completed within the next week or so.

I think I'm just going to feel accomplished for the moment and save celebrating for this weekend.
