Randy wrote the book, Zen and the Art of Making a Morris Chair, with an ideal reader in mind, which was actually idealized and he gave that ideal reader a fictional lifestyle, hopes, and dreams. So he was surprised when he actually met his ideal reader in peson more than once! In Randy's own words, "I was giddy with the feeling of accomplishment knowing that my ideas were out there, being read and hopefully changing minds and behaviors." He adds that there's nothing like being a thought leader by others.
