RadioRed gets UP CLOSE & PERSONAL with these authors:

Jane Mattes, LCSW.: "Single Mothers By Choice". Jane founded the national organization Single Mothers by Choice in 1981, after discovering many other single moms who needed someone to talk to without judgment. A NYC psychotherapist for 25+ years, she writes first-hand on the unique issues relevant to deciding whether or not to become a single mother, and the challenges that follow—in particular, "Who is my Daddy?" questions. Her book has resource lists for donor insemination & adoption, plus sample agreements with a known donor. A down-to-earth guide for SMCs & "thinkers".

Wai Hon Chu & Connie Lovatt, "The Dumpling – A Seasonal Guide". By defining a dumpling as "a portion of dough, batter, or starchy plant fare, solid or filled, that is cooked through wet heat, and not a strand or a ribbon,” Chu & Lovatt take into account the ingredients, cooking methods, and shapes that most commonly define dumplings around the world - including pot stickers, matzah balls, pierogis, shao mai, tamales, steamed cakes and steamed breads. Their book illustrates folding methods and includes such fab recipes as Chickpea Dumplings in Tomato Sauce (India), Chocolate Tamales (Mexico), “Napkin” Bread, Cloud-Shaped Bread Buns (Tibet) & Potato Dumplings with Cabbage Layers (Hungary). Chu was the creator of NY's El Eden Chocolates.
