My guest for this Sunday's episode is none other than Reverend Byron Benton, pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. What makes him extraordinary as a pastor and as a person is his genuine spirit of service. As an associate pastor at Berean Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY, he founded the Berean Community Drumline which encouraged positive holistic health in youth by providing physical activity thereby combating obesity, diseases, and encouraging an overall healthy lifestyle. Simultaneously, it encouraged self-discipline and community service. The work he did with the Berean Community Drumline not only gave an outlet for youth, but it was a saving grace for some of the children that were involved over the years. What a worthy person to close out our month-long celebration of extraordinary men.
You don't have to be Superman or Wonder Woman to do extraordinary things. Ordinary people change the world Join us every week for an hour-long conversation with ordinary men and women--just like you--who have converted their pain into purpose, their mess into a message, and have silenced every naysaying voice that said, "You can't." They are the Clark Kents of this world. Don't underestimate them. Ordinary is the new extraordinary.
