WELCOME ABOARD Hannah Ackerman!

September 18, Hannah  was surprised by her High School Principal, Dr. Rich Powers, and Associate Principal, Dr. Dana Deines, at an assembly of her Cedar Falls (Iowa) High School student body with the awarding of a commemorative plaque marking the release of her book—and with the presentation to her of the first copy of I Kept my Chin Up. 

Later in the evening, the presentation was repeated at the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49.  (Hannah Ackerman is the President of the Post # 49 Junior AMVETS). Iowa State Senator Jeff Danielson, and Representative Bob Kressig attended the evening reception at the AMVETS.

'Miss Ackerman at the tender age of seventeen has produced a work that honors memories of our veterans and patriots who have given great service to our country.'
