The Vagina Monologues

 The Ashé Cultural Arts Center was formed as an effort to combine the dreams of their neighborhoods and associated economic development with the awesome creative forces of the community; the objective being to integrate culture and art to revive and reclaim a historically significant corridor in New Orleans.

On Friday and Saturday, April 15^th and 16^th, known as  part of V-Day awareness,  the Ashé Cultural Arts Center will present Eve Ensler’s internationally acclaimed play The Vagina Monologues, directed by Dollie Eaglin-Monroe.  The play is being presented as a V-Day 2011 campaign event to stop violence against women and girls.  The cast includes local artists and celebrities Meg Farris, Adella Gautier, Gail Glapion, Barbara Lacen-Keller, Kelder Summers, our own lovely co-host, Gretchen Meyers along with many others.  Proceeds from the show will benefit Crescent House, Liberty House and The YWCA of Greater New Orleans.
