Tonight's Guest: Sandra Wyckoff of Houston Texas. Sandra has a degree in Social Work/minor in Gerontology from Jacksonville State University. In 2012 she was chosen for the My Black Beautiful Beautiful national campaign ad by Proctor & Gamble. In her early 40's and the prime of her life, she took notice of the overwhelming reaction to her youthful looks and positive spirit as she was the oldest woman selected for the campaign. The idea of celebrating the greatness of other women, specifically the 40 year old, inspired Sandra; and within the ensuing year she gave birth to 40z Rock. 40z Rock is for the woman who is not afraid of her 40's, and embraces the transition freely, with style and class. These women are sexy, accomplished and comfortable in the skin they're in.  These women focus not only on herself, but her community as well.  Sandra is all about reclaiming your value and upping the ante for what women are doing in their community, through continued assistance to organizations such as: The American Heart Association to raise Heart Disease Awareness, Sisters Network African American Breast Cancer Walk, Susan G. Komen Cancer Walk, Habitat for Humanity, The Ballard House for out of state cancer patients and families, Neuhaus Educational Center adult literacy scholarships, Wheeler Ave Annual Golf Tournament benefiting The Homeless No More Initiatives and Kids Meals on Wheels to ensure kids don't go hungry during the summer months. Sandra believes too many women fall into the trap of believing some of the old-age stigma's and stereotypes, such as "40 is downhill for your looks, your relevance, or your purpose". She believes there is no question about the importance of 40z Rock because it mirrors and applauds these women for being as fabulous at 40 than ever before!
