Col. McBride will discuss the nearly 70 reconstruction projects that have been made in the Salah ad Din Province, which have been paid and approved by Iraq. These projects include water treatment facilities and schools. Salah ad Din's Shia population near the southern area of the province has reconciled and partnered with fellow Sunni citizens. More than 1,700 Salah ad Din former fighters and/or citizens have reconciled in recent months, and both Tikrit and Balad have seen over 600 citizens reconcile. The fighting of two years ago has changed to shared economic prosperity and mutual understanding of interdependence. Additionally, he will discuss how elements of the Iraqi Army have been operating own their own for over 30 days in the eastern desert of Salah ad Din. They are receiving limited Coalition Forces support via MITT Teams.
