Blogbat: 2 Million Readers and 75,000 Screaming Chinamen. An olio of wonderful things, from long...make that "very long" and dry policy wonkish things to short snarky quips, quotes of the day, the latest outrage, to some feat of random wonderment - all are found here free of charge. Updated in uneven spurts. The Blogbat weblog has been around since 2003. Since then, it has been quoted, published, and linked to by academic and news journals, such as The New York Times page on Georgia (Russia), Harvard Law School's Global Voices Online, Slate, etc. Its author, yours truly, has also been invited by the Washington Post to participate in one of its online public fora dealing with Cuba and moderated by David Ignatius and Fareed Zakaria. I have a degree in International Studies from American Military University with an informal focus in National Security as well as a minor in Cello Performance from another school, in addition to also being just nine hours shy of a Bachelor's in German. Honor societies and recognitions: Candidate for Graduate of the Year, Phi Theta Kappa, National Dean's List, Delta Epsilon Tau, Golden Key, and Who's Who. Selected from among a few top students worldwide to attend the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and related events via UPIC. Additionally, I have studied abroad in Germany, visited the UK, France, and elsewhere, and attended numerous events and lectures by noted experts in the field of international relations and security in Washington D.C., New York City, and Dallas. I have spent time at the UN (also touring Ground Zero), the Pentagon, and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Room at the Capitol, attending various functions and discussing current issues. Philadelphia is another favorite haunt, as are Valley Forge, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, and Vicksburg. I sat for the LSAT exam in 2007 and is currently investigating options to pursue a J.D. I am a member of the World Affairs Councils of DFW and D.C.

Show Notes

This week I will be attending CPAC 2009 and broadcasting live from there, after hopefully overcoming whatever technical issue is preventing me from logging onto my show. Hopefully, we'll hear back from BTR soon and get this puppy in high gear. Hang tight, kiddos!

    Thought of the Day

    http://blogbat.us/mt/archives/2009/02/thought_of_the_2.html

When conservatives are in power, it's about government accountability to the people; when libs are in power, it's about the people's accountability to government. As the ShamWow guy says (sort of), it speaks for itself.

Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness

    http://blogbat.us/mt/archives/2009/02/life_liberty_an.html

I discuss some of the consequences of disregarding the inherent rights of any living human being on both society and government and how it increasingly threatens to tear down the West morally and politically as a bastion of liberty and prosperity, and possibly even as an entity, free or not.
