What has happened to the Mental and Financial Health of Afrikan Women in the US?

Greetings All, Well Wanda and I have been officially doing Blessed Hips Bellydance for one year, We just passed our 1 year anniversary on the 10th of May, And what a journey it has been !! I just hope and pray that our shows have helped someone out there better understand, overstand themselves because we are now in the age of self - understanding. And all things that contribute to that end are of vital importance. As I reflect on the past year I am so happy and grateful for the many new friends and acquaintances that have become a part of our show. So many sistas and brothas have made this a special place for me over the last year and have inspired me to keep on keeping on. I can see that this endeavor reaches far beyond my dreams and has grown me farther than I could see when we started out. I am so grateful for all of you who take the time to listen to our live shows as well as our archived shows. I am especially grateful to blogtalk for the vision and the opportunity.

Now, as I reflect again over the past year, I still wonder if we have contributed enough to the health and well -being of the women and men who listen. I can not say enough about the importance and necessity of good mental health which I now equate to
"just good ole common sense" Have we been convinced to give up that common sense that at one time so many people shared and it seems to have abandoned for this new way of thinking? I observe insanity among our sistas young and old and I wonder, just what is really going on in our heads.? So in this blog I wish to read some of your comments and recommendations on how we can turn this back away from the drama that some of us are so addicted to and come to a more peaceful existence. I look forward to your words of wisdom.
    Peace Victoria
