My pastor recently spoke from 2 Corinthians 2:1-11 and it truly blessed me. As I begin to meditate on this particular passage, I love what Paul was expressing here………….he said he was not coming with words to impress but to make it PLAIN & SIMPLE. What I received from this passage was simply….That my life of faith is a response to God’s power. As I was reading this I was like…..I definitely want my girls to experience the life-changing power of the Holy Spirit. I say this because I have made so many mistakes in my life and it is so important to me now that I and those around me be led by the Power of the Holy Spirit and not by the wisdom of any person. During my study time, I walk away with the understanding that I can do what Jesus did. He actually said so in John 14:2 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. Wow, those are life-changing words for me. As I meditated more on 2 Corinthians 2:1-11 what really grabbed me was the fact that the Holy Spirit knows the thoughts of God. It was like a light bulb went off in my head. (Laughing Out Loud) I grew up going to church every week. I accepted the Lord as my Savior when I was about 12 years old. I did all sorts of ministry throughout adolescent and teenage years, and even became a student minister at the age of 16 before I really started to understand the role the Holy Spirit was supposed to play in my life. I knew that I had received the Holy Spirit to help me in my spiritual walk – but I didn’t really understand that the Holy Spirit could inform my every decision if I let him.

This is why during my younger years I did not live the life that was pleasing to God and why I made so many mistakes. I understand this better now. Right now I am thanking God for Grace and Mercy (Smile).
I clearly understand that we have been given this incredible resource and clearly unware of the benefits we have and we simply don’t allow the Holy Spirit to enrich our life with his wisdom, understanding and joy. I do not want my kids or anyone to miss out on anything that God wants for them as a believer.
At this moment, I am reminded of this song by my gurl Ledsi - What Can Be Higher Than This? - I’m connected to the One; therefore I am.
Finally, I like what Paul says in verse 9 - “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
The word prepares means to make all things ready. God will reveal to his people, that which he desires to carry out.
