You Can Hear From God Yourself

During my study time, I was reading Psalm 95. For some reason I was reminded of a conversation I had with a friend. I remember telling her the very thing I was reading in Psalm 95. I remember being very disturbed because she was going thru some issues and she was telling me about a conversation she had with another man/woman of God. She was telling them what God told her to do and they said to her, “Are you sure you heard from God?” Let me tell you why I was disturbed by this………………

It is clear to me that each one of us come to God with different life experiences and expectations. We can each read the same scripture and each one of us come out with a completely different response. So how can one be so quick to ask this question?

As I was reading Psalm 95, I thought about my own relationship with the Father and how someone once asked me that same question. When one have a relationship with God, I believe his message is given based on our spiritual maturity and unique situation. Everyone is at a different point in their life – Psalm 95 tells me that the Lord is a Great God! Oh yes he is! God is our creator and everything is in his hands.

When we kneel before Our God, Our Maker, and come to him with thanksgiving in our hearts and on our lips, ready to talk to him and listen. We will hear him! Oh yes!

I’ve learned that how we view God can sometimes determine how we hear from him…..As for me, I view him as my Father, the one who knows everything and sees everything. So when I go to him in prayer, I am giving him my heart and thanking him for what he has already done for me; and just like a little girl, I go to him….. Father, I don’t know what to do or how to do it; will you help me?

Oh yes, you will hear him, cause you will be waiting for a response like a little girl does when talking to her daddy. God looks after what he has made. I know that God is still speaking today. Because each day he leads me and guides me every step of the way. I am reminded of what someone once said to me and that is…..”the steps of the righteous man are ordered by the Lord.” Psalm 37:23.
