Most notable for her work in freeing the Scott Sisters. However , she holds a Masters of Jurisprudence from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. As a former third generation public school teacher she followed the tradition of creating "outside the box" teahcing strategies for students labeled learning disabled and emotionally disturbed. Her consciousness and disapproval of the "school to prison pipeline" led her to work with juvenile delinquents. In December of 2011,she published a book titled " Locked Up, What To Do When Your Azz Get's Locked Up", a learning supplement and guidebook against mass incarceration.
