July 19, 2009 marks the fourth year since the probable rape and murder of PFC. LaVena Johnson who was stationed in Balad, Iraq when her life was taken in 2005. The case received worldwide coverage through the Internet and featured on programs like "Democracy Now" with Amy Goodman, some local coverage by KMOV out of St. Louis, Missouri.
LaVena’s father, Dr. John H. Johnson has taken every opportunity to tell his daughter’s story and the stories of similar cases, is near completion of a book he is writing about his family’s ordeal with the United States Military in a quest for justice.
