The National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders is calling for a boycott of the 2010 Census. Is this a right wing group helping Conservatives? Minorities are said to be under counted when a Republican is in the oval office.
USA TODAY reports: The crackdown on illegal immigrants at the border and in the workplace may deter the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants from participating. Although most Hispanic rights groups support participation in the Census, the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders is urging a boycott to pressure lawmakers to change laws and create ways for illegal immigrants to gain legal status.
The group claims that undocumented immigrants do not benefit politically or economically from being counted in the Census. Is this true?
It is well know that undocumented workers can not participate in elections by voting but do they benefit economically? Do undocumented immigrants children go to school? Do undocumented immigrants use police, fire, medical and transportation services in the communities in which they live? Is CONLAMIC asking documented Hispanic immigrants and Americans of Hispanic descent to boycott the Census also? These are some of the questions we will attempt to ask Rev. Miguel Rivera who is the chairman of CONLAMIC. If illegal immigrants are not counted in the Census, how will this have a negative impact on the communities in which they live? Should residents of Black communities care?
Megan Williams is reportedly recanting her story about being rape, tortured and abused at the hands of a White west Virginia family. Besides having a mental disability, Megan Williams bore the physical evidence of her ordeal and perhaps is lying now. Why blame Al Sharpton? Plus update on Herman Thomas case.
