  The American Music Awards was laced with profane language but the media buzz and public conversation has centered most on Lambert’s indecent performance. Youth tend to be more acceptable of most programming they see on television because they are for the most part, not mature enough to perceive the impact of certain kinds of media on their perceptions. But when you have 16-yr-olds commenting on the performance saying things like “"It was kind of really dirty and sexual, I would say," and "His fans are going to be like, 'What are you doing?' ", every responsible adult and parent in our society should take note and take action.
  
  Scotty Reid, Founder of the Black Talk Media Peoject chats with Mr. William Sermons of the National Alliance To End Homelessness, he is the Director of the Homelessness Research Institute and his areas of expertise include cross-disciplinary research, program evaluation and performance improvement. They discuss the plight of homeless veterans, families and other people and the need to provide them with services. We also discussed President Obama's goal to end homelessness for veterans and the 1.5 billion in stimulus money he earmarked for this effort.

  Denise is a veteran journalist and was the founding editor of African American Family Magazine and was appointed editor of the NAACPs The Crisis. She received an award for her first book "Girl In The Mirror, A teens guide to self awareness." In "Life Is A Party", she uses music, video game imagery and sports to lead young people on an exciting journey into self-fulfillment, dignity and empowerment.   The American Music Award's constantly shows the world why America is known as the "Great Satan" with tasteless, vulgar and profane performances and comments from artists. The entire music industry and its related television programming are in the gutter just like its sales and ratings. This is just another example of corporate media's agenda to vulgarize and brutalize our society. ABC, owned by Disney and Dick Clark are playing both sides of the media fence. Who ever is in charge of rating public television programs and gave this a TV14 rating should be fired.
  
  A vast majority of people who have responded to polls felt that Adam Lambert's performance was too much for television with must of his apologist being either homosexuals or children to young and immature to render an informed opinion. Some people are trying to make this an issue of discrimination against gays while others are trying to make it about race citing rap music. The point is, the show was rated TV14 and based on this year's program and past programs, has no place on the public airwaves.
  
  Yet while many are complaining about this year's program, they are not doing it to the right people. Therefore, we ask that you sign a petition to the President, Congress members and the FCC to fine ABC for broadcasting obscenity and vulgarity on public TV.

  The Prosecution of Former NFL Defensive Lineman Leonardo Carson

  Was this a waste of taxpayer’s resources? While violent Mexican Drug Cartels were setting up shop in cities and rural communities across the nation, why did the FBI set up surveillance on Leonardo Carson for 5 years and why did they not have anymore evidence to produce than the testimony of two admitted drug dealers with something to gain by testifying against Mr. Carson? Did the FBI offer Mr. Carson a “deal” if he gave false testimony against former Alabama Judge Herman Thomas? Is this standard operating procedure in the FBI Mobile, Alabama branch?

  

  Mr. Carson was arrested in March of 2009 and accused of trafficking in cocaine and other drugs using other dealers to distribute the drugs. Carson has maintained his innocence and according to sources, the FBI had little evidence to support their charges. However, his brother Wilbert Carson and another man, Kareem Abdul Cook testified against Leonardo in August and he was convicted largely on their testimony. Family members contend that Leonardo Carson was set up by drug dealers trying to cut a deal with prosecutors. Leonardo’s brother, Wilbert Carson reportedly regrets giving testimony and has tried to commit suicide twice. There are a number of questions remaining about this case as Leonardo waits to appeal his conviction.

  I hope that we can shed some insight into this case as we hear about these events from Leonardo’s wife, Mrs. Tonya Carson.

  After the Daily Show's Jon Stewart and his team exposed the fake footage used on Hannity's program to make it seem like more people turned out for a rally against health care reform by mindless tea baggers and racists who do what people on television tell them to do against their own best interest, Sean Hannity claims it was a mistake, yeah right.
   
  
  Roger Ailes who runs the cable news network for Rupert Murdoch is the modern day Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi propaganda master, is known for his race baiting programming.

  While Beck is the worst offender on the Fox News Channel, the network has a long, deep history of engaging in inflammatory racial rhetoric: attacking Black leaders, Black culture, and Black institutions. and a number of Murdoch's recent business decisions suggest that he is consciously building a media empire -- at Fox News and elsewhere -- that attracts viewers by appealing to racial fear and paranoia.
  
  Last month, Murdoch put Don Imus (fired from MSNBC for his infamous "nappy headed hos" comment) back on television on the Fox Business Network and a few weeks ago, Murdoch personally fired Marc Lamont Hill -- one of Fox News' few black commentators -- in response to a racially charged smear campaign led by a News Corp shareholder, who said Hill has "reputation of defending cop killers and racists."
  
  Murdoch's right-hand men Murdoch chooses his employees carefully, and his agenda is obvious when you look at the people he's chosen to run his media organizations.
  
  Roger Ailes, the president of Fox News, made his name by using racial paranoia to propel Republican politicians to victory, starting in the 60s. He engineered key elements of Richard Nixon's Southern Strategy, and a notorious race-baiting ad campaign that helped the first President Bush defeat Michael Dukakis. Ailes was also the executive producer of Rush Limbaugh's failed television show.
  
  Another News Corp property, the New York Post, led by Col Allan, also has a troubling record on race.
  
  Earlier this year, the Post caused an uproar after printing a cartoon that appeared to depict President Obama as a dead monkey, covered in blood after being shot by police. Instead of taking the widespread critical response to the cartoon seriously, Allan issued a short, insensitive statement that took no responsibility, and attacked critics of the cartoon.
  
  Last month, the Post fired a Latina editor, Sandra Guzman, apparently as retaliation for having spoken out against the cartoon when it was published. Guzman is now suing News Corp, the newspaper, and Allan. She says that the Post is a "hostile work environment where female employees and employees of color have been subjected to pervasive and systemic discrimination and/or unlawful harassment based on their gender, race, color and/or national origin." Guzman says that Col Allan and others at the paper routinely made inappropriate sexual and racial comments. She also says that the paper's D.C. bureau chief told her that the Post's goal was to "destroy Barack Obama."
  
  Holding Murdoch, Beck and Fox News accountable When Murdoch publicly endorsed some of Beck's most inflammatory comments, it seemed he was making it very clear that he approves of Fox's race-baiting. Now, apparently after realizing how damaging it would be for him to publicly support the rhetoric that cost Glenn Beck 80 advertisers, he's trying to backpedal. But Murdoch is not willing to distance himself from Beck either.
  
  He knows that he could face a backlash from Fox's viewers if he appears critical of the racially charged programming that attracts many of them to the network in the first place. So Murdoch wants to have it both ways -- he wants to build a network that makes money by pandering to racial fear and paranoia, but he doesn't want Fox to be seen as cable's home for race-baiting.
  
  We can't let him get away with it. Murdoch made a mistake by speaking too openly about what he and his media organizations stand for. He rarely makes mistakes like this, and we need to seize the opportunity to expose Fox's problem with race. It starts by demanding that Murdoch explain what he meant, and be clear about whether or not race-baiting is part of the program at Fox.
  
  He may or may not respond, but if enough of us speak out, we can create a conversation that makes it clear who is ultimately responsible for Fox's race-baiting. It's just one step in starting to bring some accountability to the leadership of Fox News and News Corp -- but it's an important one.
