I am a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and, as my fellow Trinitarians reading this would "Amen" to, Pastor Wright's character is nothing as depicted on the sound bites being played over and over again across the "so-called" news stations and the internet. It is no surprise, however. Another milestone in the now infamous Clinton "Kitchen Sink" strategy, for sure. I know many of you are going to say, "Oh, but Omari, ABC News broke the story." Yes, I know this. But let me ask you a question. Is it really "breaking a story" when the majority of the messages taken from Pastor Wright's sermons come from 3 to 6 years ago? You tell me. This story was leaked and timed and has probably been written, researched and completed for more than a year now.Senator Clinton and her cohorts have succeeded in engaging the American people in a race debate. That's what's happening everybody! That's the whole point: To get racist and "border-line" racist White people wavering. This is the classic Right-Wing Southern Strategy being recreated before our very eyes. I don't mind the strategy, I'm simply smitten by the stupidity of folk who aren't plain outraged by it. Hillary Clinton signed an agreement not to campaign in Michigan and Florida. Only after she got her ass whooped in Iowa and South Carolina did she decide to break her word under the pretense that she didn't think it was right to "disenfranchise" the voters of those states. Answer me this: What do White folk in America know about being "disenfranchised?" At any rate, ever since her "victories" in those states, nobody's called her out for a.) breaking her word not to campaign, or b.) not really winning in those states (you can't win when nobody's running against you).As one of Barack Obama's campaign emails reads (and I'm paraphrasing), when Barack won Iowa, Clinton said it was about the delegates. When Barack won more delegates, Clinton said the election was really about who wins more states. When Barack won more than double the number states Hillary Clinton did, she said that it was about the "big states." What the hell people? Why can't you see through this?My name is not Samantha Power. I can say it! Hillary Clinton is a lying "monster" and a politician of the worst kind - obviously lying and bad at it, to boot. I mean, at least be a good liar!Senator Clinton announced her "Kitchen Sink" strategy before the Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island primaries and, in this case, did exactly what she said she would do.First, bring up Tony Rezko. Then, complain to the media about supposed preferential treatment to Barack. Then, criticize Michelle Obama's comments about for the first time in her adult life being proud of her country. Then, Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis paper. Then, Barack's lack of experience (which is the biggest lie in Hillary's campaign as I'll explain in a later blog). And now, Barack's (and my) pastor.Even Rush Limbaugh made a widely publicized plea to Republicans because, "she's far more willing to attack Obama than McCain," and nobody batted an eye. The usual suspects (Sean Hannity, John McCain, George Bush, Bill O'Reilly) are all getting their shots in as well and it looks like the "so-called" mainstream press is trying to get in on the action. The lynch mob is growing everyone and, believe it or not, I don't mind them or the attacks. I'm just surprised and appalled that "the sheep" (and you know who you are) are actually listening and not insulted by it.
