I'm tried.  I'm frustrated.  I'm angry. I'm hopeful. I am an activist. I fight for equality in our public schools. I fight against predatory reformers such as Michelle Rhee, Eli Broad and Wendy Kopp. My trip down the rabbit hole of corporate education reform began about two years ago and I am STILL taken aback by the actions of these folks.  Take, for example, the recent attack on our teachers in Kansas by their legislators. It was an attack backed by the Koch Brothers. Not only did those teachers lose tenure but they also lost due process, and for what?? So our corporations could get richer at the expense of our professional teachers and our students.  Un-FREAKIN-believable!

In this episode I will be talking with Dr. Deborah Camp from Hoover, Alabama who was recently highlighted on Dr. Diane Ravitch's Blog. You may find her article here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/215385702/i-Just-Want-to-Teach

We will be talking about testing, empowering teachers, activism and what ever else pops up!

Also,Reggie Hill, candidate for the 5th Congressional District here in Alabama, will be checking in with us

I'm also super excited to announce that Mr. Charles Evers will be the keynote speaker at an event I'm planning here in Huntsville, Alabama. If y'all are ANYWHERE in the area on April 26th you need to stop in and listen to this insightful, courageous and OUTRAGEOUS civil rights activist talk about his life and experiences and about the progress, or lack there of, of our public schools when it comes to equality.

I encourage everyone to listen live so you can participate in the conversation through calls and/or chat! ^0^
