White people from various churches and groups agreed there is a need to talk about racism, after the uproar expressed over comments made by Obama’s former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Blacks should take advantage of this opportunity by studying and using the Five Phase Plan and the Reparations Proclamation as a base, to initiate local and national Racism and Reparations Conferences. The strategy contained within both docs will enable us to address racism and other serious problems in an open and honest manner. We can use both docs to form a power base from which we can form commissions, to investigate racism and other problems, so that we can find solutions. This is crucial because if we don’t produce solutions these problems will continue to get worse and drive blacks further away from equality. If you consider the depths of damage and problems caused by racism and other problems we are not addressing, you will recognize African-Americans are living in perilous times. Blacks should take the time to do something about this situation ourselves instead of waiting on black leaders or the government. We should host Racism and Reparations Conferences to talk about racism in all forms, lingering affects of slavery and oppression and the dangers they pose in society today, as we present reparations as the solution.
