...cannot take constructive criticism (NOT IGNORANT TACKY remarks) and try to learn from it, what's the point of putting it out there for the public? Might as well be a journal entry. I have some family/friends who are brutally honest. I think reading reviews and trying to learn from the constructive ones thickens skin and improves writing.

I do think it's corny as hell for an author to post a review under a fake name for their own book or someone else's. I rate all kinds of stuff, and it has never crossed my mind to put it under an alias. Hell, there are plenty of times when I'll send the author a private message to give an elaborate review whether I like the book or not. For someone to post fake reviews, it makes authors who are constructive readers look bad. Once again, I'm rethinking the idea of reviewing books. If an author ca

I enjoyed tonight's very opinionated conversation. I was the one who said "The Coldest Winter Ever" would be considered street fiction, but I'm glad 3 Chicks clarified that. My timing of reading the book versus when it came out factored into my opinion of that, but you learn something new everyday.
