Black America Rising is pleased and honored to have the opportunity to interview Producer, Director, and Writer Parris Reaves of HawkFilmz on our show this week. Parris Reaves is an African American who has proved himself a cultured filmmaker exhibiting his proven creative talents across many borders. His passion for the craft and art of filmmaking makes him somewhat of a maverick exercising his freedom of creativity. Born bread and raised in the neighborhood of Englewood on the infamous South-side of Chicago. Parris holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Chicago State University, but he profoundly states that “filmmaking is my heart”. Parris best describes himself as that of a Hawk – which demonstrates an actively aggressive or combative attitude, “within good morals” tracing its journey around the world. Parris Reaves has over 16 years of experience with film direction, and production and script development, vision enhancement and film investing. Mr. Reaves will give us his insight into the world of filmmaking from an African America perspective. His movies; such as Ransum Games, When Thugs Cry, Leaders, and The Cycle; just to name a few, are powerful films that truly speak to his audience. Join me and my co-host Barrett Holmes Pitner for a lively and informative interview with one of America rising stars. If you love movies or have aspirations of becoming an actor, director, producer or writer, then don’t miss this show. Mr. Parris Reaves has a wealth of information and insight that he will be happy to share with you.
