Call in to speak with the host
Tonight's special guest is Evan Katz, M.C., LPC, MAC, from Georgia, an abuse survivor, counselor, speaker and author, who's often known as "The Anger Guy." His book, "Inside the Mind of an Angry Man" gives us a look into a mind that's often in intense turmoil, and shows us the way out. Evan explains, "I grew up in a world of chaos. My father was an angry, aggressive alcoholic lawyer who used his brains and power to bully and brow beat my family into fear, darkness and submission. My mother divorced my father when I was five, but by then it was too late. As my [younger] brother said, 'You had to live with him. I didn't.' By the age of seven I had concluded that I was not worth loving–that I was no good." The angry man is typically described as abusive - emotionally, verbally and sometimes even physically. He rages like a hurricane, hurting those closest to him .. completely unaware that his anger is fueled by intense and painful feelings, including: shame, self-hatred, fear of failure, loneliness and rejection. If you're an angry man, or if you feel hurt and mistreated by one, this book will open doors of understanding to help you bring peace to your life and your home.
It's good to talk.
